In 1989, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, launched his directives to establish a charitable edifice with humanitarian objectives that will be build in the Emirate of Sharjah. It was established by Amiri Decree No. (1) of 1989 under the name of "Charity Association", before it was amended 2000 to be named "Sharjah Charity Association".
